CBP has spokespersons in Washington, D.C. and around the country to assist members of the working press. Our spokespersons address two major operational areas: ports of entry and between ports of entry (Border Patrol).
There are over 70 Deferred Inspections Sites throughout the United States and the outlying territories where incoming aliens are referred when documentation requires additional review and/or possible correction.
Located in Washington, D.C., CBP Headquarters provides policies and procedures to all its domestic and international locations based on U.S. laws and regulations established by the executive and legislative branches of the federal government.

Field Operations Offices provide guidance to their regional ports and ensure the dissemination and implementation of core CBP guidelines. These offices also provide for mission support functions within their regions; such as, resource management, equal employment opportunity, labor, employee relations, and other human resources management functions.
